How to organize a quest at home? Simple rules

Guess the riddle: children spend all day watching cartoons and reviews of fashion bloggers, parents “hang out” on social networks – what is it? This is the 21st century!

Do you also feel a lack of live communication and real emotions? Every day more and more moms and dads ask themselves the question: how to develop the logic of a child? How to interest and how to tear the family off the phone? What kind of entertainment can ensure the development of logical thinking in an interesting format?

Quest is a sequence of interesting tasks and riddles that lead to some goal, for example, treasure detection. Quests are “sweets for the mind”, games that develop logic. At the same time, if we offer children riddles for the quest at home or, for example, in the country, the real adventure will turn out in reality. Down with the phones! Quest in reality – it is very modern, fun and unusual. If you do not know how to do the quest, then come to the address. Below you will learn how to develop logic and thinking, and at the same time have a great time!

Choose a gift.

Before you come up with a quest, you need to prepare a “treasure”. This is some kind of surprise that seekers will find at the end of the quest. Choose something symbolic, for example, a favorite chocolate bar, kinder, new typewriter or a set of markers. If this is a quest for a child at home, then a gift can be a self-made certificate that gives the child a special right to something interesting, for example, certificate for a trip to somewhere  or “Certificate for visiting McDonalds”. A gift for adult players can also be a symbolic chocolate bar or a bottle of tasty beer – something for everyone.

Determine the scale of the quest.

Quest options can be many. The “micro” option is on the scale of one room. Classic is the whole apartment or house. If you live in a private house, then you can perfectly play the game inside and in the yard. If in a high-rise building, the yard and several neighboring courtyards will also fit perfectly into the script. So, you need to decide whether your players will leave the house and how far away they will be from it.

First, find a place to hide. In the caches will lie paper tips. Seats options:

  • in a coat pocket hanging in a closet;
  • in a boot;
  • gloved on the shelf;
  • in an empty sugar bowl in a sideboard;
  • in the bread box;
  • in old chess or backgammon;
  • in the book;
  • under the carpet;
  • in cosmetic bag;
  • in a hamster’s cage;
  • in the entrance;
  • in the mailbox;
  • in the leaves of the bush near the house;
  • in a flower bed.

Try to find such caches in which players will not find a hint by chance, so as not to disturb your script.

Write down these places in order, the last will be the place in which the “treasure” is hidden.

Cache for treasure should be the most reliable! Either you know for sure that the players will not have a look in there beforehand, or during the game the gift is not there and you will put it there on the penultimate task. For a home quest will be enough 10-15 tips.

Arranging the quest at home, choose the script according to the occasion. You can do a quest for a specific theme or just a set of puzzles.

What options can be thematic quests:

  • Thematic quest on the birthday can be devoted to the birthday, and then all the riddles will be about him.
  • The quest for Valentine’s Day or Anniversary is based on joint dates and events.
  • New Year’s quest can be done on the subject of wishes, predictions and gifts.
  • Weekend quest, when you just wanted to arrange a family adventure, can be done in a pirate theme, in the format of a detective story, in the format of your child’s favorite cartoon.

A very important detail – you need to lay out the tips from the end! First, hide the gift, then the last tip that leads to the gift, then the previous one and so on. As a result, you will have the very first hint, which you will give to the players for the start of the quest.

Make your first quest this weekend, and this will become your favorite family tradition. Playing quests with the whole family, we develop logic and attention and get a lot of positive!
